After much speculation, it has now been confirmed that LMFAO’s Redfoo will be the fourth judge on X Factor Australia!
Redfoo replaces Guy Sebastian after he stepped down from the panel to concentrate on his music career.
The addition of Redfoo rounds out the new-look X Factor judging panel, which now comprises of Dannii Minogue (who replaces Mel B) along with returning judges Ronan Keating and Natalie Bassingthwaighte.
peaking to Sydney’s Daily Telegraph about his new appointment, Redfoo has declared that he won’t be holding back when it comes to the show.
“The main key for me is just being myself. What will happen is I will just get into a zone and that is what the world has gotten from Redfoo, just a guy being himself, and that is what makes me unique. I just follow my gut, follow my instinct and follow my feelings. I just want to have fun.”
When asked about how he plans to approach being on the panel Redfoo said,
“I have no idea what to expect. I’ve just made it like a blank slate and I am just naturally going to go with whatever piques my interest at the time. I am going to let it happen, let me naturally be attracted to the talent.”
During his time on the show Redfoo will be based in Sydney and when asked about his plans while in town he replied,
“I will be staying in an apartment or a house I will be working on music. I will be playing tennis and possibly, probably, getting to the beach because I grew up surfing.”
Redfoo – who is currently dating tennis star Victoria Azarenka – says he will also make time to travel to see his girlfriend between filming.
“She is going to be playing in China when I am down there so I might on the off days go fly and see her,” he said. “That’s a whole other thing, maintaining the relationship when you are so far away. I might have to get on a private jet for a few days.”
Rapper Redfoo of LMFAO and “Heroes” actor Sendhil Ramamurthy have entered the U.S. Open national playoffs in bids to earn berths in the final Grand Slam tennis tournament of the year. Redfoo is entered in the USTA Northern California Sectional qualifying tournament June 18-23 in Salinas, Calif.
He will play under his real name Stefan Gordy in singles, and mixed doubles with 17-year-old Ayaka Okuno, whom he is currently coaching.The 37-year-old rapper, dancer and DJ, whose father, Berry Gordy, founded the Motown record label, played tennis as a junior and has attended some of the Grand Slam tournaments.
He was at this week’s Indian Wells, Calif., tournament to support friend Victoria Azarenka, the world’s No. 2 player.
“It’s always been a dream of mine to play professional tennis,” Redfoo said.
The mixed doubles champions receive a wild card into the main draw of the U.S. Open.

Now, with the news that Sebastian will not return to The X Factor this year after three series, in order to concentrate this year on his music career, rumours are coming thick and fast as to who will take his seat. Having recently finished the audition tour for this year’s The X Factor season, the producers are now turning their minds to replacing Sebastian and co-host Mel B who has also left the show to become a judge on America’s Got Talent.
One name strongly linked with replacing Sebastian – and his afro – is Redfoo (Stefan Kendal Gordy) star of music duo LMFAO, who have had huge success in Australia with singles such as Party Rock Anthem, Champagne Showers and Sexy and I Know It. (więcej…)
